I bought an open hole flute...?
I got an open hole flute today thats a jupiter, yipeeee. Which brand is best for an open hole flute?
I'm considering buying an open hole flute for the start of high school.Preferably, something that's not to pricey one of my friends got on for $1200, so preferably something lower than or around that price with good tone quality and ease of use.If you could recommend a particular model as well, that would be helpful.

I played for several years before I quit. Now about three years later I'm trying to start playing again. Sadly, I only have my open hole flute. Any tips on playing with the holes? I guess I threw out the plastic covers for the holes a while ago because I don't have any.

I am thinking of saving up for an open holed flute with the low Bb joint and I was wondering how much it would cost with the plugs too compared to getting thr keys replaced on the closed flute which is what I have right now what is a better deal
Adjusting to open-hole flute/pain in my hand?
I have a Gemeinhardt flute and have been playing for about four years, and I'm slowly taking the plugs out. I just removed another one third finger, left hand , but trying to cover it is awkward for my hand and makes it hurt. Is this normal should I just keep playing and I'll adjust to it? Or is my hand positioned wrong? Thanks And, no, it's a C flute.
Open-holed flute help please?
I am looking into getting an open holed flute possibly for college. Im lookin at a yamaha model Yfl 261 offset G. I was offered $800 for one in a store which is a $200 discount. I got to play it and it sounded beautiful Hitting all low notes and high notes. Its all silver and comes with plastic plugs, brand new from the wrapper. Is this a great flute for college and should I get it?

Getting used to an open-holed flute?
For christmas my parents have bought me a new flute, I had a quick go of it today to see if it worked and to get a " feel" of it, immediately my tone sounded better but the only thing that felt a bit strange was the open holes, it felt like my F was leaking because my LH 3rd finger didnt cover the hole completely..I was thinking about getting plugs for it until I feel more comfortable playing it, and taking each one out one at a time, can anyone recomend any good plugs, and some tips on transferring from a closed to open hole flute, how to get used to it?The flute I have just gotten is a Trevor James TJ10ix flute with the silver head joint, since my parents were on a tight budget they got it second hand. Is this flute okay will benefit me if i'm playing at grade 5 soon 6 standard. Need to know if i'd made the right decision for choice of flute.I went from a buffet 228 student model by the way, is the trevor james a good step up flute? Thanks
