Difference between irish flute and Irish whistle?
I've played the irish whistle for a long time now and am thinking of buying myself an irish flute, how easy would it be for me to learn the flute? Is it interchangable with the whistle? That is to say, is the fingering and notes the same, it's just i have to hold it sideways and learn to blow differently?
Should i stick with irish flute or change to boehm?
I am planning on doing a music project with a friend. We both play traditional irish music for only 2 years now . We want to make a fusion between jazz and celtic music. I play the irish flute. Would it be better for me to change to the boehm flute for this? What we had in mind was to do a little improvisation and use jazz rythms we dont plan improvising for 10 minutes . So, should i stick with irish flute or change to boehm? I was also planning on learning sax.ps we only do music as a hobby
