Which gemeinhardt flutes are better?
I have heard many different things about the gemeinhardt flutes. I had a 2SP flute when I played in middle school and was looking to buy one for myself. But are the 2SP flutes better than the 3 series flute? I have heard that the flutes are worst as they new models came out and that the best ones are the older ones in the blue cases. Help please
Would it be cheaper to get a new flute or refurbish an old gemeinhardt flute?
I've had my flute for about five years and it's been through rain and some sleet for two marching seasons. It's starting to sound airy I've asked my flute teacher, and she says it's not my embouchure and the notes are getting difficult to play out. Plus, I have to use SO MUCH air to get my low notes out, and I have never had to do that until last year. I just want to know if it would be cheaper to get a new or fairly used flute of any good brand or to get my flute refurbished.
How much is my gemeinhardt flute worth?
its a 2sp and the serial is J24523...i got it about 6 or 7 years ago and only used it once a week for about 8 months...i'm wondering what the estimated value would be. thank you

I am looking to buy a 2nd hand flute and i would like to know if Gemeinhardt Flutes are good quality and if they will last long. Also, what kind of Quality are Jupiter and Yamaha flutes compared to Gemeinhardt Flutes??? Thanks.
Gemeinhardt flute value?
i've been noticing that the value of flutes, particularly gemeinhardt flutes, does not go up at all. i have a model M3 flute serial number 319083 that is, by all i can figure, between 35 and 45 years old. gemeinhardt's serial number finder doesn't list it gemeinhardt.com main.taf?p 6,7 . there is extremely little wear and tear and its minimally been played since its last overhaul. if i were to just glance it in its box i would think it was almost new. any idea what it might be worth?i've just done another google search and i realized i guess i should be a bit more specific. the flute is solid silver with a c foot, open keyed and has an inline g key.
