What is the best flute to buy for beginners that is $500 and lower?
Can anyone recommend the best starter flute to buy for under £200?
It is for a beginner, but I don't want to but one that won't last for a few years.
Advice on what flute to buy...?
I am a sophomore in high school and I want to buy myself a new flute. I have been using my gemeinhardt student model for 6ish years now but I would like to upgrade. I went to my music store and I tried a Jupiter Capital Edition gold lip plate and silver plated head joint and body , Gemeinhardt 3OSH solid silver head, plated body and the Yamaha 361 solid head plated body . I originally did not like the Gemeinhardt as much as the Yamaha and Jupiter but is seems to be the most price concientious for quality. I have heard Jupiter can be shoddy and because I am going to buy this flute myself, Yamaha it is a little too pricey. Researching Jupiters, I found a Jupiter gold lip plate, solid head, and plated body for $700 or a Gemeinhardt gold lip plate, solid silver head and body for $850. I want this flute to be my flute for life so I am thinking the Gemeinhardt is the way to go...does anyone agree? I am really lost in this whole thing and I unfortunately do not have anyone to talk to about it other than a store person who keeps pushing the Yamaha. Please give me your opinions doesn't have to be on these flutes , I am really lost and need some guidance

So, I play clarinet in highschool but I've always wanted to play the flute since 6th grade but my mom wanted me to play to clarinet just like her. I've been able to play on my friends marching flute and can actually get out some notes but I barely get to play because at school were not alowed to play other peoples instruments and I don't always get to hang out with my friend.I've thought about buying my own flute or renting one but Im scared that it will affect my clarinet playing even though I plan on having the flute as like a side instrument that I could play just for fun. So id like to know how much it'd cost to buy or rent a flute to see if it'd be worth it.
